Job summary

Xlysi LLC in San Francisco is seeking an experienced DataModeller to design, develop, and maintain enterprise data models that support BI, analytics, reporting, and operational applications.

You will translate business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical models, ensuring data quality, scalability, and governance while collaborating with BAs, Data Engineers, Solution Architects, DBAs, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of data modelling, database design, or data warehousing.
• Experience with enterprise data platforms and large-scale projects.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced DataModellerto design, develop, and maintain enterprisedatamodels that support business intelligence, analytics, reporting, and operational applications. The role involves translating business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physicaldatamodels while ensuringdataquality, consistency, scalability, and governance.

TheDataModeller will work closely with Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Solution Architects,Database Administrators, and business stakeholders to create robust and scalabledataarchitectures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strong understanding of Conceptual, Logical, and PhysicalData Modelling.
• Strong knowledge of RelationalDataModelling and ER Modelling.
• Experience with DimensionalDataModelling.
• Good understanding of normalization and denormalization techniques.
• Experience designing Star and Snowflake schemas.
• Understanding of slowly changing dimensions (SCD), fact tables, dimension tables, and surrogate keys.

Database & SQL

• Good knowledge of relationaldatabases such as:
  • PostgreSQL
  • Oracle
  • SQL Server
  • MySQL
  • Snowflake
• Understanding ofdatabase performance, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
• Knowledge ofdatabase constraints and referential integrity.

DataWarehousing & Cloud

• Experience withdatawarehouse anddatalake concepts.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes anddataintegration.
• Experience with one or more clouddataplatforms such as:
  • AWS
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Google Cloud Platform
• Exposure to platforms such as Snowflake,Databricks, Azure Synapse, BigQuery, or Amazon Redshift is desirable.
