Job summary

Staffworxs is seeking an experienced Data Modeller to design, develop, and maintain enterprise data models that support business intelligence and analytics. You will translate business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical models while assuring data quality, governance, and scalability.

Collaborate with analysts, engineers, architects, and stakeholders on data architectures; 5–10 years of experience and hands-on ER modelling tools are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in data modelling, database design, data warehousing, or related roles.
• Experience working on enterprise data platforms and large-scale data projects.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data models for BI, analytics, reporting, and operations.
• Translate business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical models with governance and quality controls.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Modeller to design, develop, and maintain enterprise data models that support business intelligence, analytics, reporting, and operational applications. The role involves translating business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models while ensuring data quality, consistency, scalability, and governance.

The Data Modeller will work closely with Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Solution Architects, Database Administrators, and business stakeholders to create robust and scalable data architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strong understanding of Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Modelling.
• Strong knowledge of Relational Data Modelling and ER Modelling.
• Experience with Dimensional Data Modelling.
• Good understanding of normalization and denormalization techniques.
• Experience designing Star and Snowflake schemas.
• Understanding of slowly changing dimensions (SCD), fact tables, dimension tables, and surrogate keys.

Database & SQL

• Good knowledge of relational databases such as:
• Oracle
• SQL Server
• MySQL
• Snowflake
• Understanding of database performance, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
• Knowledge of database constraints and referential integrity.

Data Warehousing & Cloud

• Experience with data warehouse and data lake concepts.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data integration.
• Experience with one or more cloud data platforms such as:
• AWS
• Exposure to platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, BigQuery, or Amazon Redshift is desirable.
