JOB SUMMARY
The Elisabeth DeLuca School of Nursing at the University of Connecticut is seeking applications for a full‑time Data Management and Analytics Specialist (Institutional Research Analyst 2, P4) at the Storrs campus.
The Data Management and Analytics Specialist is responsible for data management, data analytics, and reporting for all programs, offices, and initiatives within the Elisabeth Deluca School of Nursing. The Specialist will compile, build, and maintain databases for planning, decision‑making, publication, and compliance with government regulations purposes. This position proactively identifies, develops, and effectively communicates complex data and analytical studies to senior administrators to facilitate finding creative solutions.
This position reports to the Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration and works in conjunction with the Associate Deans, Program Directors, Director of Student Success, program support staff, and central University IT, data management, and data analytics staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collects, analyzes, forecasts, models, and presents data relating to School characteristics, strategic planning, accreditation, enrollment, staffing, degrees and certificates awarded, etc. Identifies and anticipates data and information reporting needed for programs, senior administrators, and School. Maintains student databases with biographical information, progression, and completion of academic programs. Compiles and tracks student data for admissions, graduations, pass rates, etc. Evaluates what data and systems are needed for reporting.
Follows standardized practices for collection and interpretation of data to ensure data accuracy and integrity in reports. Downloads grade reports for graduation(?) and prelicensure, writing formulas to identify any grades and GPA below requirement and distributes to appropriate directors, ADs, and staff. Gathers, summarizes, reports on, produces, and distributes information as an aid in administrative planning using data received from available resources.
Generates and may present reports on analysis, forecasts, and models for administrators to aid in high‑profile and School decisions. Designs, develops, implements, and/or coordinates methods and procedures for regularly gathering, summarizing, reporting, producing, and distributing information as an aid in strategic planning and institutional reporting requirements.
Administers and modifies data collection systems such as faculty productivity, and other academic and management information systems for the school. Audits and maintains official reporting files. Identifies discrepancies, researches issues, and recommends procedure changes to avoid future problems.
Compiles statistical reports and maintains undergraduate student files and records as requested by faculty and as required by the University and external state and national agencies including but not limited to, the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), the National League for Nursing (NLN), CT department of Public Health, and statistics as needed for grant applications.
Serves as a liaison between the program and other University offices, external constituents and the public regarding data sources and reporting when necessary. Responds to requests for information such as information needed to complete the reports and survey for the CT Department of Higher Education (DHE), and US News World Report.

The hiring range for this position is $70,000 to $87,966. An offer of employment, if made, will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s skill and experience, as determined by the University.

APPOINTMENT TERMS
This is a full‑time, 12‑month, permanent position. Other rights, terms, and conditions of employment are contained in the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association (UCPEA).
This is an in‑person position requiring the chosen candidate to be on‑site at the UConn Storrs campus. Following a successful one‑year probationary period, there is potential for a hybrid schedule consisting of a minimum of 3 days per week working on‑site at the Storrs campus.
