Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Data Layer Engineer to support USSOUTHCOM J26 ENHANCED DOMAIN AWARENESS task order. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing data transformation workflows for geospatial and non-geospatial datasets.

The position requires designing pipelines, performing ETL, and managing Postgres/PostGIS, SQL Server, and NoSQL while handling cloud storage (AWS/Azure/Google) and Kubernetes-hosted geospatial apps. DoD/IC data security policy experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in data management, information science, computer science, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in data governance or related area.
• Experience implementing metadata and data cataloging solutions.
• Knowledge of DoD and IC data security policies compliance.
• Experience with Databricks Unity Catalog, Collibra, Alation, AWS Glue, or Azure Purview.

Responsibilities

• Work with ESRI geospatial data layers, ArcGIS Enterprise, and cloud-based geospatial services.
• Utilize databases including PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server, and NoSQL.
• Manage cloud storage solutions such as AWS S3, Azure Blob, and Google Cloud Storage.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP).
• DAMA Certified Data Governance Professional (DGSP).
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate.

Required Education and Experience Equivalency

• Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• OR Minimum of 5 years of equivalent experience in data governance.
