This in-office position requires four days a week in New York City, with a preference for candidates in NYC or Washington, DC, and offers a robust benefits package and a base pay between $150k and $175k.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data journalism experience.
• Proficiency with Python and/or R, spreadsheets and relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Data Journalism team and supervise several data reporters.
• Shape and stress-test the team's data analyses.
• Consult on analyses conducted by reporters outside the team.
• Navigate cross-desk collaboration with crisp communication and diplomacy.
• Support journalistic independence and mission, reporting to the Data Editor in NYC.
• Be comfortable working with short, medium and long deadlines.
