Job summary

Hilltop Holdings Inc. is seeking a Summer Intern to join the IT Enterprise Data team in Dallas.

You will work closely with Data Managers and the Data Director to gain hands-on experience in information technology while assisting key initiatives across the company. The role involves developing reports and dashboards, creating data integrations, supporting the data warehouse, and contributing to data integrity efforts in a collaborative agile environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in a relevant discipline (junior or senior preferred).
• Experience with SQL or Python required or preferred.
• Experience with Power BI or Tableau a plus.
• Excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to initiate tasks and follow through to completion.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship required (student status acceptable).

Responsibilities

• Develop reports and wireframes for dashboards and Power BI dashboards.
• Create data integrations using Microsoft Data Factory.
• Support data warehouse reporting requirements and data quality initiatives.
• Assist with data normalization and data integrity projects.
• Assist in evaluating new software and upgrades and support strategic decisions.
• Generate reports from multiple systems and participate in daily agile standups.
• Perform additional duties related to data analytics as needed.

Hilltop Holdings Inc. is currently looking for a qualified student to join IT Enterprise Data team as a Summer Intern. This individual will work closely with Data Managers and the Data Director to gain hands-on experience in Information Technology while assisting with several key initiatives across the company.

Responsibilities

• Help develop reports, wire frames for dashboards, Power BI dashboards and data analysis.
• Create data integrations utilizing Microsoft Data Factory.
• Support the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements.
• Support initiatives for data integrity and normalization.
• Assess tests and implement new or upgraded software and assisting with strategic decisions on new systems.
• Generate reports from single or multiple systems.
• Participate in agile scrum stand up sessions daily as a team member.
• Other duties as assigned or required as well as found interest in the data analytics areas.

Qualifications

• Junior or Senior standing student pursuing a degree in a relevant discipline preferred.
