Job summary

Peraton in Annapolis, MD seeks a Systems Engineer/DevOps to outline, develop and implement data engineering solutions for IC data management. Must have TS/SCI with polygraph, and extensive experience in systems engineering.

The role focuses on data ingestion transformations using NIFI, Linux, XML/CSV/JSON, and databases (MySQL/NoSQL). JAVA and Splunk experience is highly desired.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with current polygraph required.
• 17 years of experience in planning and leading systems engineering.
• Five additional years of systems engineering may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Outline, develop and implement data engineering solutions.
• Work with NIFI in a Linux environment and handle structured data (XML, CSV, JSON).
• Model data transformations for ingestion into customer repositories.
• Document data flows and data routing implementations.
• Experience with JAVA and Splunk is desired.

• Seventeen (17) years of experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts.
• Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required
  • Five (5) years of additional systems engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree

Project Description:

• The team supports a suite of web-based applications that automate data management for IC data custodians.
• The products facilitate the capture of information and approvals that allow for the movement of data through the customer mission space in a compliant manner.
• These products are critical to standardize and simplify data movement as well as data reuse and integration with downstream tools.

Job Description:

• The team is seeking a Systems Engineer/DevOps Engineer to outline, develop and implement data engineering solutions.
• The candidate should have a working knowledge of NIFI, be comfortable working in a Linux environment, interaction with data ontologies (schemas), structured data types (XML, CSV, JSON), have database experience (MySQL/NoSQL) and analytic query experience with a platform.
• The engineer will work with numerous concurrent IC-provided data sets to identify, map and model data transformation routines supporting ingestion into the customer's corporate repositories and be able to document new and existing data flows supporting data routing implementations.
• A working knowledge of smart data systems and entitlements is desired, as well as experience with JAVA and Splunk.
