Job summary

MetTel, a global communications solutions provider, seeks a Data Analyst in New York, NY to develop metrics and drive actionable insights. You will distinguish between operational and strategic reporting and work with AI-assisted tooling to generate and validate code, while applying judgment on architecture and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience defining metrics with governance and clear grain, time basis, and exclusion rules.
• Ability to build both operational and strategic reports with appropriate granularity and cadence.
• Strong business partnership and ability to challenge vanity metrics.
• Ownership of end-to-end reporting for business units.
• Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries and data lineage.
• Experience building dashboards in a React-based front-end; API wiring and front-end views.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools as part of workflow.
• Strong communication to explain numbers to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define KPI governance and document metric definitions.
• Build operational and strategic reports for multiple audiences.
• Partner with teams to understand business decisions and avoid vanity metrics.
• Own end-to-end reporting for business units.
• Write and optimize SQL, maintain data lineage to source systems.
• Maintain and develop dashboards, write queries, connect API, front-end.
• Use AI coding tools to generate/refactor code with careful review.
• Answer ad hoc questions and present findings to non-technical partners.
