Job summary

Speechify is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join the Data side of our AI team. You will own all aspects of data collection to support model training operations, building high-quality datasets at petabyte scale, and collaborating with infrastructure, engineering, and research work.

You’ll work with the AI team and leadership to craft the dataset roadmap powering Speechify’s next-generation products for consumers and enterprises, while delivering data at scale with cost efficiency and

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development.
• Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments.
• Proficiency in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts; experience with at least one major Cloud Provider (GCP).
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Be scrappy to find new sources of audio data and ingest into our pipeline.
• Operate and extend cloud infrastructure for our ingestion pipeline (GCP, Terraform).
• Collaborate with Scientists to improve cost/throughput/quality for data at scale.
• Help craft the dataset roadmap with AI Team leadership for Speechify’s products.
