Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Data Governance Communications Specialist to drive adoption and understanding of data governance frameworks and self-service analytics tools. The role focuses on clear communications, instructional content, and visual materials that translate governance processes for mixed audiences.

Remote, contract, W2 eligible. Key responsibilities include publishing on SharePoint, creating how-to guides, storyboards, and video content, and supporting governance and self-service

Qualifications

• SharePoint expertise with site structure and content distribution.
• Hands-on video production experience with modern tools.
• Proven content design and information organization skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication for diverse audiences.
• Experience presenting information visually via PPT, infographics, diagrams, and video.
• Ability to gather feedback and iterate for clarity and usability.
• Knowledge of data governance, quality, metadata and cataloging.
• Familiarity with self-service analytics platforms and ability to learn basics.

Responsibilities

• Create and publish explanations of data governance concepts for business and IT audiences.
• Develop how-to guides for data cataloging and metadata management.
• Design instructional storyboards and adapt governance playbooks for wide distribution.
• Produce demonstrations and walkthroughs of governance tools and workflows.
• Develop documentation for self-service analytics platforms like Power BI, Snowflake, Alteryx, Microsoft Fabric.
• Publish guides translating technical concepts into non-technical language.
• Create materials for access requests, security, tool workflows, and best practices.
• Support communications strategy to drive self-service adoption.
• Create PowerPoint decks, infographics, and visuals to explain governance concepts.
• Produce video content using tools like Firefly, Clip Champ, or Adobe Premiere.
• Build surveys to gather feedback and improve materials.
• Publish and organize materials on SharePoint for self-serve discovery.
• Document governance and data intake workflows with clear guides.
• Maintain centralized SharePoint repository with clear labeling.
• Support collaboration using JIRA and Confluence.
