Job summary

Ignite Digital is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to support a U.S. Navy customer in the Norfolk, VA region. The analyst will help develop, implement, and maintain enterprise data governance frameworks, ensuring Navy mission data is accurate, trusted, and appropriately governed across systems.

This role emphasizes data quality, policy enforcement, metadata management, and collaboration with business and technical teams to deliver measurable improvements and evidence-based decisions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata, or related disciplines.
• Solid understanding of data governance principles, policy development, stewardship models, and quality management.
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with an ability to break down complex data issues.
• Effective communication skills for interfacing with data owners, stewards, analysts, and technical teams.
• Ability to work independently in a fastpaced, Navy mission environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development, implementation, and maintenance of data governance policies, standards, workflows, and procedures.
• Support enforcement of governance rules in collaboration with data owners and data stewards.
• Document and maintain business rules, definitions, lineage, and metadata.
• Contribute to building and maturing enterprise data governance frameworks.
• Analyze data quality issues and monitor KPIs to drive improvements.
• Develop reports and dashboards to display governance and quality metrics.
• Prepare materials and support Data Governance Council meetings.
• Deliver training on data governance concepts and standards.
