Job Description - Data Governance Analyst
Role Purpose
The Data Governance Analyst is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, adoption, and operationalization of Data Governance capabilities that enable trusted master data across Fusion. Working closely with the Data Governance Lead, business stakeholders, data owners, data stewards, and project teams, the role will establish minimum viable governance processes, support a light touch Fusion data governance operating model adoption, and ensure data governance activities are embedded into day-to-day business operations.
The role acts as a key liaison between business and technology teams, helping to define data governance practices, coordinate stakeholders, facilitate governance activities, and support the transition of governance capabilities into BAU operations.
Key Responsibilities
Data Governance Implementation
- Define, document, and implement minimum viable Data Governance processes to support Fusion master data management.
- Support the development and embedding of governance controls, decision-making processes, and accountabilities across business units and shared services functions.
- Ensure governance processes are practical, scalable, and aligned to business priorities.
Governance Roles and Accountability
- Articulate governance roles and responsibilities, including Data Owners, Data Owner Delegates, Data Stewards, and System Representatives.
- Support the MDM and Data Governance Leads in identifying and onboarding suitable individuals to fulfil governance roles.
- Promote clear accountability for master data quality, ownership, and decision-making.
Governance Measures and Reporting
- Support the definition of Data Governance success measures, KPIs, and value indicators.
- Assist in establishing approaches for monitoring governance adoption, data quality improvements, and business outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of governance reporting and management information.
Process and Workflow
- Coordinate and facilitate the operation of UAT and post go live Data Governance processes and Oracle EDM workflows.
- Collect stakeholder feedback and identify opportunities to improve governance processes, workflows, and supporting documentation.
- Refine governance artefacts based on real-world usage and lessons learned.
Governance Forums and Stakeholder Coordination
- Support the establishment and operation of governance forums, working groups, and decision-making bodies.
- Coordinate meeting materials, actions, decisions, and follow-up activities.
- Facilitate collaboration across business units, shared services functions, and technical teams.
Documentation and Artefact Development
- Produce and maintain governance documentation, including:
- Governance operating model materials
- Process documentationRole descriptions and RACI models
- Governance standards and procedures
- Decision logs and supporting artefacts
- Ensure documentation remains current and reflects agreed ways of working.
Training and Business Adoption
- Develop and deliver training, awareness, and stakeholder engagement materials.
- Conduct workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions with Data Owners, Data Stewards, business teams, and project stakeholders.
- Support organisational adoption of governance processes, controls, and tools.
Transition to BAU
- Support the successful handover of governance processes, artefacts, and responsibilities to BAU Data Governance and Fusion teams.
- Assist in establishing sustainable governance practices that can continue beyond project delivery.
- Provide transition support and knowledge transfer to operational teams.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum overall experience of 6 years in IT industry.
- Experience supporting Data Governance, Data Management, or Master Data Management initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
- Experience documenting business processes, roles, and operating models.
- Ability to translate complex concepts into practical business guidance.
- Strong workshop facilitation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience creating training and business adoption materials.
- Excellent organisational and coordination skills.
- Experience with Oracle EDM or similar Master Data Management platforms.
- Experience supporting Data Quality and Data Governance programmes.
- Knowledge of governance operating models, stewardship frameworks, and accountability structures.
- Experience working in large, multi-business-unit environments.
- Familiarity with change management and business adoption practices.
