Job summary

H.E.B. is seeking a Data Governance Manager to lead a team focused on enterprise data governance, stewardship, and quality. You will align data architecture with standards and collaborate with Product, Engineering, Security, and Compliance to meet regulatory and business needs.

The ideal candidate combines leadership with strategic oversight to standardize governance frameworks, promote data trust, and enable secure, compliant data usage across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, business administration, data management, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, data architecture, or data compliance.
• 3+ years of people leadership experience managing data governance or analytical teams.
• Strong experience implementing enterprise data governance frameworks, operating models, and data catalogs.
• Deep understanding of data privacy, security, and compliance regulations (e.g., TDPSA, PCI-DSS, HIPAA).
• Foundational SQL proficiency to query metadata, audit logs, or perform basic data quality profiling.
• Proven ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders across both technical and business units.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of data stewards, governance analysts, and data modelers.
• Foster accountability, continuous improvement, and customer-focused delivery.
• Remove roadblocks and enable execution of governance priorities.
• Establish objectives, roadmaps, and resource allocation strategies.
• Drive adoption of standardized governance processes, artifacts, and roles.
• Serve as trusted advisor for data management, privacy, security, and architecture initiatives.
• Develop governance metrics, KPIs, scorecards, and dashboards to measure program health.
