Job summary

Ascot Group is seeking a Data Governance Lead to mature governance across the organization. The role connects Data Governance, IT, and business stakeholders, working with Data Owners and Stewards to define critical data and ensure quality while enabling trusted analytics.

The candidate will bring specialty insurance knowledge, hands-on data analytics, and practical governance understanding. This hybrid role can be based in multiple offices in NY, NJ, CT, IL, or Chicago, and requires

Qualifications

• Extensive P&C and specialty insurance knowledge with cross-functional experience.
• Minimum of 8 years in data governance, data management, or related discipline.
• Strong ability to influence leaders and align stakeholders across complex organizations.
• Experience defining data elements, standardizing definitions, and translating needs into specs.
• Hands-on with data governance tools; SQL, Python, R, and Power BI for validation and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the day-to-day liaison between Data Governance, IT, and business stakeholder groups, ensuring priorities, dependencies, and decisions are clearly communicated.
• Partner with Data Owners and Data Stewards to define, certify, maintain, and improve Critical Data Elements.
• Translate business objectives into governance outcomes, including data definitions, ownership, quality controls, and documentation.
• Create and triage data quality monitoring processes and drive resolution with Data Stewards and Custodians.
• Promote collaboration across technical and business partners to support governance practices and timely issue resolution.
• Support governance, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of reference data management procedures.
• Demonstrate Ascot Way by collaborating across teams, embracing inclusivity, accountability, and high performance.
