Job summary

Amgen is seeking an Associate Director of Data Governance, FAIR, and AI-Readiness to lead enterprise data governance and data product capabilities. The role focuses on scalable governance, metadata, quality, and interoperability to support analytics, automation, and AI initiatives.

The ideal candidate will translate scientific and business priorities into governance strategies, partner with multiple teams, and drive adoption of data management practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• Experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry with regulated data and compliance.
• Leadership of enterprise data governance across business and technology teams.
• Hands-on understanding of FAIR data principles and their practical application.
• Experience establishing data governance operating models with policy, standards, and controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise Data Governance, FAIR, and data product strategy and roadmap.
• Establish a value-realization framework for data initiatives.
• Execute the Enterprise Data Strategy including data ownership and lifecycle management.
• Evolve federated governance with clear decision rights and data standards.
• Advance FAIR maturity across the enterprise including metadata and access controls.
• Develop and promote data catalog, lineage, and semantic capabilities.
• Set governance policies for data quality, privacy, and security.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to operationalize data products.
• Enable responsible AI by defining data readiness criteria.
• Drive adoption of data management practices across functions.
• Communicate outcomes and value realization to senior leadership.
