Job summary

Softcat plc is expanding its Data Management team and seeks a Data Governance Executive to help ensure data is accurate, trusted, and well-governed. You will work with the Data Governance Manager, Data Owners and technical teams to embed a data-driven culture and support governance processes across the organisation.

You will participate in maintaining data definitions, standards and quality rules, rolling out governance tools, and monitoring data quality while collaborating with both business

Qualifications

• A strong understanding of data governance principles, including data quality, metadata, lineage and ownership.
• Experience working with data in an operational, analytical or data-focused role.
• Excellent attention to detail and a passion for improving data accuracy and quality.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain data concepts clearly.
• Confidence collaborating across business and technical teams to drive positive outcomes.
• Experience with data governance, data quality or metadata management tools, such as Microsoft Purview (desirable).
• Familiarity with data models, data flow diagrams and governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK (desirable).
• An interest in promoting data literacy and embedding best practice across an organisation.
• A proactive mindset with a desire to continuously improve processes and ways of working.
