Job summary

KellyMitchell Group is seeking a Data Governance Analyst for a hybrid, Plano-based engagement with a leading financial services provider. You will support onboarding of data assets, review metadata, and ensure compliance with enterprise data policies and privacy standards.

The role emphasizes meticulous, sequential reviews, data classification (PII and credit data), and collaboration with technical teams to maintain accurate schemas, security labels, and governance documentation.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in data governance, metadata management, data stewardship, data risk, data quality, business process management, project management, risk management, or a closely related field
  • Experience interpreting policies, standards, controls, or guidelines and applying them consistently during detailed reviews
  • Experience reviewing, validating, classifying, remediating, or escalating data, metadata, or compliance-related requests
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in high-volume, sequential process work
  • Comfort working with datasets, data attributes, tables, schemas, and technical data teams
  • Basic SQL proficiency, including the ability to execute existing queries and review results
  • Ability to execute an existing Python script and work with the resulting output
  • Experience with data classification, PII, privacy tagging, security labeling, or sensitive-data controls
  • Experience working in financial services or another highly regulated environment

Responsibilities

  • Review high-volume data asset creation, onboarding, and modification requests for adherence to established data policies and governance standards

  • Collect and measure process data to identify trends, maintain controls, and support governance reporting
  • Maintain process documentation, job aids, and data governance guidelines
  • Guide internal data teams through onboarding, metadata submission requirements, and remediation needs

Job Summary

Our client, a leading financial services provider, is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to join their team. This consultant will support high-volume data asset onboarding and metadata review processes, helping ensure datasets and metadata adhere to enterprise data policies, privacy standards, and classification requirements. The ideal candidate combines data governance experience, sound judgment, technical comfort, and the ability to work accurately through detailed, sequential reviews. This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role.


Contract Details

Contract-to-hire opportunity Duration: 6–12-month, potential for a longer contract duration based on business needs Location: Plano, Texas Work Model: Hybrid, onsite 3 days a week


Core Responsibilities

Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)

Preferred Skills/Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience

  • Experience supporting data asset onboarding, metadata approval workflows, data catalogs, or data inventories

  • Lean, Agile, Six Sigma, Business Process Management, Project Management, or related certification

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $33.00 and 48.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums
