Job Summary
Our client, a leading financial services provider, is seeking a Data Risk Manager to support a large-scale data migration, legacy system decommissioning, and third-party onboarding initiative with a leading financial services client. This individual will provide oversight of data risks throughout the migration lifecycle, partnering with business, technology, data, and risk stakeholders to ensure appropriate controls, governance, and risk mitigation strategies are in place.
Core Responsibilities
- Assess and manage data risks associated with data migrations, system conversions, and third-party integrations
- Evaluate operational and analytical data flows to identify potential control gaps and data-related risks
- Partner with business, technology, governance, and risk teams to understand evolving data architecture and risk impacts
- Develop risk assessments, validation strategies, control recommendations, and mitigation plans
- Support data mapping, lineage, and migration validation activities
- Review preventative and detective controls to prevent unauthorized access, data loss, and data quality issues
- Create executive-level documentation and presentations summarizing risks, findings, and remediation approaches
- Provide oversight and guidance throughout major conversion and onboarding initiatives
Required Skills & Experience (Must-Haves)
- 5+ years of experience in Data Risk Management, Data Governance, Data Management, or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of risk frameworks, controls, governance principles, and regulatory considerations related to data
- Experience supporting enterprise data migration, conversion, modernization, or transformation initiatives
- Knowledge of data lifecycle management, data mapping, lineage, and data quality practices
- Proven ability to assess risks, develop recommendations, and communicate findings to stakeholders and leadership
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills & Experience (Nice-to-Haves)
- DAMA certification or related data governance certifications
- Experience within banking, financial services, fintech, or highly regulated environments
- Experience supporting third-party vendor integrations or platform conversions
- Familiarity with SQL or Python for understanding technical discussions, though hands‑on development is not required

Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $49.00 and $70.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
