Job summary

Ford is seeking a Data Governance Professional to analyze privacy requirements, oversee data-use practices, and support governance across a global data environment. The role requires collaboration with legal, privacy, security, HR, and development teams to implement robust data controls.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in requirements analysis or data management, with hands-on experience in GCP BigQuery, SQL, and privacy audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, MIS, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  • 3-5 years in business requirements analysis, process management, project management, or data management.
  • Experience with cross-functional stakeholders across business, legal, privacy, security, risk, and tech.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not provided.

Responsibilities

  • Process manual requests through the Data Activation Portal (DAP).
  • Analyze customer and stakeholder needs to identify privacy requirements and approvals.
  • Use GCP BigQuery, Alteryx, R, and Python to analyze data and support privacy initiatives.
  • Employ SQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB to extract, transform, and load data for analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Office of the General Counsel, HR, Security, Risk, and App Development.
  • Support privacy safeguards within a global data environment.
  • Support GDPR and CCPA audits, access reviews, and governance assessments.
  • Escalate privacy and compliance issues and develop technical solutions.
  • Serve as a data governance SME and partner with data stewards.
  • Maintain knowledge of country- and region-specific data-security laws.
  • Recommend enhancements to Ford's enterprise data governance model.
  • Improve data governance, privacy review, and approval processes.
  • Manage multiple workstreams with documentation and stakeholder communication.

Job description

  • Process manual requests received through the Data Activation Portal (DAP)
  • Analyze customer and stakeholder needs to identify applicable privacy requirements and approval considerations
  • Use GCP BigQuery, Alteryx, R, and Python to analyze data, identify trends, and support privacy and data-governance initiatives
  • Use SQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB to extract, transform, and load data for analysis and reporting
  • Collaborate with the Office of the General Counsel, Human Resources, Security, Risk Management, and Application Development
  • Support the definition and implementation of privacy safeguards within a global data environment
  • Support data-security requirements across Ford Credit, Marketing, Sales & Service, Product Development, and regional KPI and metrics initiatives
  • Support GDPR and CCPA audits, OICs, access reviews, and related governance assessments
  • Escalate privacy, data-use, and compliance issues and help develop technical solutions
  • Serve as a data governance subject matter expert and partner with data stewards
  • Maintain knowledge of country- and region-specific data-security and privacy laws
  • Recommend enhancements to Ford's enterprise data governance model
  • Improve data governance, privacy review, and approval processes
  • Manage multiple workstreams with clear documentation, stakeholder communication, and timely execution
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field
  • Equivalent relevant experience may be considered
  • 3-5 years of experience in business requirements analysis, business process management, project management, consulting, data management, or a related role
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders across business, legal, privacy, security, risk, and technology organizations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams in a fast-paced, complex enterprise environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, customer-service, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and drive issues toward practical solutions
  • Knowledge of data management tools, data standards, and enterprise data governance practices
  • Experience with GCP BigQuery, Alteryx, R, Python, or similar analytics and reporting technologies
  • Familiarity with SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or comparable database platforms
  • Understanding of data privacy, access management, security controls, and responsible data-use principles
  • Experience translating business, privacy, and compliance needs into requirements, approval criteria, and process improvements
  • Strong organizational skills and a process-improvement mindset
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Visa sponsorship is not provided
