Job summary

Qualifications

Description

The Data Entry Specialist collaborates with the Revenue Cycle Director to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of payment posting and refund operations. This role involves monitoring, reconciling, and verifying incoming payments, including insurance claims and cash transactions. Ensures timely and accurate posting of receipts, identifies discrepancies, and works to resolve any issues, ensuring proper revenue recognition and securing financial integrity across the organization. Works to effectively secure insurance payments through ongoing electronic and manual follow through.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Process accounts and incoming revenue in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Ensures contractual payments are processed accurately.
  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables’ data.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Resolve credit balances by transferring funds to the appropriate accounts or issuing patient refunds.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of reconciliation activities.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes related to accounts receivable and cash transactions as directed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all transactions and communications for audit and reporting purposes.
  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and answering inquiries related to revenue cycles.
  • Monitor and analyze payment trends to identify potential issues or opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare bank deposits.
  • Investigate and resolve clients’ payment issue, irregularities, or inquiries with the assistance of billers.
  • Protects employees and patients by keeping information confidential.
  • Stays informed on payer specific rules and regulations.
  • Works with the team to address payer specific issues, including payment delays or nonpayment.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Actively engage in quality improvement activities.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Requirements
  • Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related field
  • 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • 1+ years of experience in accounting, finance or a related field
  • Experience with insurance reconciliation or billing

Physical Requirements
