Beth Israel Lahey Health is a world-class integrated health system providing patients with better care wherever they are. Our 120,000 square foot facility in Westwood, MA, offers state-of-the-art pharmacy services to our patients and employees. We specialize in patient-centered care, adherence packaging, specialty drug services, home delivery, prior authorization processing, and patient counseling.

We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and experienced individual to build and manage our inventory and logistics team. Our goal is to provide the highest level of service and become the pharmacy of choice for all our patients and employees. The Shared Services Pharmacy Technician will assist in the operation of the call center and data entry teams for the BILH outpatient pharmacy network.

Job Description:
Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Enter new and refill orders accurately and promptly.
  2. Resolve all PBM-related billing issues.
  3. Handle phone inquiries and initial prescription intake.
  4. Communicate with providers, prescribers, and patients.
  5. Cross-train in different roles and be flexible to organizational needs.
  6. Answer inbound calls and assist customers with pharmacy services.
  7. Obtain client information, verify details, and schedule medication deliveries.
  8. Escalate clinical inquiries to pharmacists and grievances to supervisors.
  9. Maintain patient profiles and input prescriptions.
  10. Manage high-volume calls professionally, following scripts and guidelines.
  11. Use independent judgment to triage calls and determine urgency.
  12. Assist with enrollment in copay assistance programs.
  13. Support providers with prior authorization and appeals.
  14. Manage mail/delivery of prescriptions and address related issues.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Mass Registered Pharmacy Technician registration.
  • 1-3 years related experience.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with web applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPht certification.
  • Experience in call centers, pharmacy data entry, and PBM billing.
  • Bilingual communication skills.
