Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated is seeking a Data Entry Clerk - Billing II (Mon-Fri, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM Central) to support billing operations. The role involves researching and entering data for accessions, maintaining accurate records, and communicating with clients and carriers about billing details.

The position requires a high school diploma and strong typing skills, with experience in healthcare billing systems and Microsoft Office tools.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED required.
  • 2+ years of high-volume data entry experience, preferably in healthcare.
  • Proficient with Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Ability to use remote meeting/learning applications and video conferencing.
  • Must maintain HIPAA compliance at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Research, obtain and enter missing information for completion of accessions.
  • Conduct data entry for completion of accessions.
  • Demonstrates competency in eligibility, billing and receivable systems and associated applications.
  • Educates external customers on providing complete billing information.
  • Inform customers of billing problems and resolutions as appropriate.
  • Make outbound calls to clients, patients, carriers, or internal/external sources.
  • Answer inbound calls to address account inquiries or resolve issues.
  • Respond to account inquiries in written form when needed.
  • Handle sensitive client and patient interactions.
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation for all transactions.
  • Generate and distribute reports to obtain missing information.
  • Report problems, errors, and PHI breaches to management.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Meet performance goals for efficiency, accuracy, quality, and attendance.
  • Cross-functional training and other duties as required.

Data Entry Clerk - Billing II - Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PMCentral

Pay range: $17.20 - $21 / hour

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities
  • Research, obtains and enters missing information/demographics for completion of accessions.
  • Conducts data entry for completion of accessions.
  • Demonstrates competency in eligibility, billing and receivable systems and associated applications.
  • Educates external customers on how to provide complete billing information and avoid additional contacts for information.
  • Informs customers of billing problems/issue findings and resolutions as appropriate.
  • Make outbound calls to clients, patients, carriers and/or any internal or external source as needed to obtain missing or additional information.
  • Answer inbound calls from clients, patients, carriers and/or any internal or external source as needed to answer account inquiries or resolve issues.
  • Responds to account inquires through written correspondences if unable to resolve via phone.
  • Handles sensitive client and patient interactions.
  • Maintains timely, accurate documentation for all appropriate transactions.
  • Generates and/or distributes reports and documentation to internal or external client to obtain missing information.
  • Reports problems, errors, and denial trends to management including PHI breaches.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Meets the performance goals established for the position in the areas of efficiency, accuracy, quality, patient and client satisfaction and attendance.
  • Other duties and tasks as required/cross functional training.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of recent work experience in high volume data entry (preferably medical field)
  • Maintains a satisfactory level of quality and productivity perdepartmentstandards.
  • 1+ years of working experience with Microsoft Tools including Microsoft Word (creating memos, writing), Microsoft Outlook (setting calendar appointments, email) and Microsoft Excel (creating spreadsheets, filtering, navigating reports)
  • Ability to use remote meeting/learning applications including instant messaging and video conferencing.
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is free from distractions and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.
  • Ability to use remote meeting/learning applications including instant messaging and video conferencing.
  • Maintain compliance and HIPAA regulations at all times.
  • Typing speed of at least 50+ WPM
  • Ability to use 10 Key.
  • Ability to adapt to changes & Other duties and tasks as required/cross functional training
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • Healthcare background with medical terminology familiarity of clinical issues
  • Demonstrated ability in using computer and Windows PC applications, which includes strong keyboard and navigation skills
  • Experience using dual screens with multiple applications at one time.
