ALS is seeking a Data Entry Clerk to input data from customers into our laboratory information management systems with speed and accuracy. You will follow SOPs, process 200+ samples daily, and assist with sample tracking, storage and communication with lab and customers.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 0–3 years of laboratory experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, LIMS, and internet-based reference libraries.
  • Ability to enter 200+ samples daily by end of training.
  • Good attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Enter data from customers into company database and LIMS.
  • Follow SOPs and departmental guidelines for data loading.
  • Modify data as prescribed by customers; notify supervisor of changes.
  • Handle sample storage, disposal, and tracking as needed.
  • Answer phones and assist customers; route problem samples to customer service.
  • Identify and correct mislogged samples; ensure correct tests are performed.
  • Process daily incoming samples (200+).
  • Support lab with sample changes or rush testing requests.

Our global team turns up each day with passion and commitment to do amazing things, always challenging our thinking to find ways to solve some of the world’s most complex problems for a safer, healthier world.About the role:The Data Entry Clerk will enter data sent from customers on labels and forms into our laboratory information management systems.Position Duties and Scope:The Data Entry Clerk 1 has the following duties:• Accurately enter data received from customers into company database.• Follow departmental guidelines for all data loaded.• Modify data periodically as prescribed by customers.• Follow instructions by supervisor.• Follow standard operating procedures.• Send \"problem\" samples to customer service for resolution.• Notify lab of changes to test packages, special testing requests, and/or priority testing (rush analysis).• Efficiently process 200+ samples daily.• Answer phones and assist customers as needed.• Correct samples that are logged incorrectly and work with lab to ensure correct tests are performed.• Receive, open and tray up all samples received each day.• Effectively research reminders generated by diagnosis and fix samples if needed.• Assist with storage and disposal of client samples.• Compile, sort and verify the accuracy of data before it is entered.• Enter data received from customers accurately.• Follow departmental guidelines for all data loaded.• Modify data periodically as prescribed by guidelines.• Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:High school diploma/GED is required.0–3 years of laboratory experience is preferredMust have good computer skills, including Microsoft Office products, LIMS, and Internet based reference libraries.The ability to accurately enter 200+ samples daily by the end of our training period.The ability to learn all applicable Data Entry procedures.Attention to detail and good communication skills.High energy level, confidence and ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.Ability to work overtime, evenings and weekends..Working at ALS:Our people are our most valuable asset and drive our success at ALS.
