Job summary

ALS is seeking a Data Entry Clerk in Phoenix to enter customer data into our laboratory information management systems, handling 200+ samples daily with accuracy. The role requires a high school diploma/GED and good computer skills, with preference for prior lab experience.

You will follow SOPs and engage in data verification, ensuring timely processing while supporting customer service and lab teams in a fast-paced environment. ALS offers structured wage progression and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Must have good computer skills, including Microsoft Office products, LIMS, and Internet-based reference libraries.
  • Ability to accurately enter 200+ samples daily by the end of training period.
  • Learn all applicable Data Entry procedures.
  • Attention to detail and good communication skills.
  • High energy level, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work overtime, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter data received from customers into the company database.
  • Follow departmental guidelines for all data loaded.
  • Modify data periodically as prescribed by guidelines.
  • Follow instructions by supervisor and SOPs.
  • Send "problem" samples to customer service for resolution.
  • Notify lab of changes to test packages and priority testing.
  • Process 200+ samples daily and maintain data integrity.
  • Answer phones and assist customers as needed.
  • Correct samples logged incorrectly and coordinate with lab to ensure correct tests are performed.
  • Receive, open and tray up all samples received each day.
  • Research reminders generated by diagnosis and fix samples if needed.
  • Assist with storage and disposal of client samples.
  • Compile, sort and verify data before entry.

About the role:

The Data Entry Clerk will enter data sent from customers on labels and forms into our laboratory information management systems.

Position Duties and Scope:
  • Accurately enter data received from customers into company database.
  • Follow departmental guidelines for all data loaded.
  • Modify data periodically as prescribed by customers.
  • Follow instructions by supervisor.
  • Follow standard operating procedures.
  • Send "problem" samples to customer service for resolution.
  • Notify lab of changes to test packages, special testing requests, and/or priority testing (rush analysis).
  • Efficiently process 200+ samples daily.
  • Answer phones and assist customers as needed.
  • Correct samples that are logged incorrectly and work with lab to ensure correct tests are performed.
  • Receive, open and tray up all samples received each day.
  • Effectively research reminders generated by diagnosis and fix samples if needed.
  • Assist with storage and disposal of client samples.
  • Compile, sort and verify the accuracy of data before it is entered.
