Job summary

ALS is a global leader in scientific testing, providing solutions to clients in many industries. ALS Laboratory Technician role is a full-time position responsible for performing laboratory tests, calibrations, and data recording in a compliant, ISO 17025 environment.

The candidate will follow SOPs, maintain equipment, ensure safety and quality guidelines, and support production goals in a fast-paced lab. A high school diploma or laboratory experience is preferred, with good laboratory practice

  • Comfortable in high paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory tests as outlined by SOPs.
  • Perform scheduled calibrations, standardization and SPC tests.
  • Routine maintenance of testing instrumentation.
  • Complete paperwork to track tests and validity.
  • Load data for tests performed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Record personal production and meet requirements.
  • Route samples for additional testing per SOPs.
  • Store and dispose of samples properly.

About the role

We are seeking a full time Laboratory Technician who will be responsible for various laboratory testing. This individual will be responsible for following all safety and quality guidelines while maintaining a satisfactory production level. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

About you
  • Performing laboratory tests as outlined by the SOPs.
  • Performing all scheduled calibrations, standardization and SPC tests.
  • Routine maintenance of testing instrumentation.
  • Properly completing all paperwork used to track tests and their validity.
  • Loading data for tests performed.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe work area.
  • Accurately recording personal production and meeting production requirements.
  • Routing samples for additional testing as outlined by SOPs.
  • Storing and disposing of samples properly.
  • Complying with local and corporate quality assurance policies, as well as ISO 17025 lab accreditation requirements.

Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time, as required

Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or laboratory experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of good laboratory practice.
  • Comfortable in high paced production environment.
Physical Demands
  • The ability to stand for intervals of up to 8 hours while working.
  • Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with co-workers and managers.
  • Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate equipment and handle glassware.
  • Must have average vision and able to see to read reports and operate equipment.
  • Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
