Hours: 8 hours per day

Pay: $20–$30 per hour

Responsibilities

• Perform order entry and related tasks to support the medication dispensing process.
• Calculate or verify the correct dose according to prescriptions.
• Contact doctors to obtain hard copies of prescriptions within required time frames.
• Ensure drug prescriptions are returned in a timely manner.
• Enter new and reload orders accurately and promptly.
• Process orders based on assigned priority.
• Prepare backup pharmacy orders.
• Comply with state and federal drug labeling guidelines.
• Provide dispensing pharmacists with information on allergies, drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, and other tagged items.
• Courteously assist all internal and external clients.
• Consult with dispensing pharmacists regarding prescription ordering, out‑of‑stock items, order entry issues, or concerns.
• Complete all data fields in accordance with pharmacy procedures, using approved abbreviations.
• Classify customer service inquiries by department, urgency, and required information or answer.
• Collect, prioritize, and classify incoming faxes in the corresponding department or area.
• Create and maintain accurate customer records.
• Coordinate and manage the "STAT" order process (verify e‑kit inventory list and fax to customer).
• Understand Medicare policy and co‑pay requirements or guidelines.
• Comply with all applicable regulations, including HIPAA.
• Assist with pharmacy workflow as needed.
• Ensure treatment needs and regulatory compliance standards are met for patients while maintaining confidentiality and ethical conduct.
• Maintain the highest professional and ethical standards.
