Bodycote in Vernon, CA is seeking an Order Entry professional to support heat treatment operations under the Quality Manager. You will create accurate shop travelers and interface with customers to resolve order discrepancies.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least one year in heat treating, basic metallurgy knowledge, and proficiency with MS Office and databases. ITAR compliance is mandatory; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or permanent residents.

Position Summary:

Based in Vernon, CA the Order Entry will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Quality Manager to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following.

• Reviews industry and customer specifications to create accurate shop travelers using industry standards, customer paperwork and planning department review.
• Interacts with customers as needed to clarify or communicate purchase order discrepancies.
• Assists with other functions as required including answering phone, etc.
• Brings any unusual problem or irregularity to the attention of supervisor.
• Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
• Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.

• This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
• Education – High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum one year of equivalent/relevant work experience in heat treating or related industry.
• Requires basic knowledge of metallurgy, heat treating, and related subjects.
• Requires knowledge of and/or ability to quickly learn industry, customer and metallurgical standards.
• Requires knowledge of computer applications and good understanding of basic math
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
• Knowledge and hands on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required.

Physical & Mental Demands: The following physical and mental demands consist of, but are not limited to the following.

• Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time (at desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an office/industrial environment.
• Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
• Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
• Ability to lift 35 lbs.
• May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
• Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
• Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
• Ability to hear in person and via phone.

Pay & Benefits Information

The hourly pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00 per hour. Starting pay is determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with state and federal law.

This role is eligible for additional compensation, including shift differential, etc., if applicable.
