Job summary

SHI International Corp. is seeking a Services Solutions Engineer, Data Engineering to design, build, and deliver enterprise-scale data platforms using Microsoft Azure and Fabric.

The role collaborates with engineers, project managers, and client stakeholders to implement secure, scalable data pipelines for analytics, reporting, and AI use cases. Initial focus includes state-level public sector and regulated industry projects like large-scale data lakehouse deployments.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience delivering modern data engineering solutions on Microsoft Azure and/or Microsoft Fabric.
• Strong engineering foundation across data pipelines, lakehouse/warehouse architectures, and relational data platforms.
• Experience designing and operating production data platforms with monitoring and operational support.
• Knowledge of data security, governance, encryption, and handling of sensitive or regulated data.
• Experience in consulting or project-based delivery environments with client stakeholders.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, source control, testing, and infrastructure as code.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement data ingestion, transformation, and integration pipelines using Azure data services.
• Build and optimize data lakehouse and warehouse solutions in Azure and Microsoft Fabric.
• Develop and maintain data models, ETL/ELT processes, and historical data retention logic.
• Manage Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 environments with lifecycle management.
• Implement data validation, quality controls, and auditable data platforms.
• Collaborate with BI/analytics teams to prepare data for reporting and AI use cases.
• Apply security best practices including encryption and identity-based access control.
• Support data governance, lineage, and operational readiness.
• Implement monitoring and reporting for pipelines and data platforms for production support.
• Work with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Participate in workshops, discovery sessions, and requirements gathering with clients and internal teams.
• Translate business requirements into actionable technical solutions.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation and runbooks.
• Contribute to reusable frameworks, templates, and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and QA processes.
• Follow CI/CD and environment promotion strategies; support post-implementation activities.
