Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to own and expand the data infrastructure behind the Siding & Accessories analytics function. You will manage the SQL Server environment, pipelines from source systems into the commercial dataset, and maintain master/reference data to ensure trusted reporting for sales, product, and customers.

The role requires deep SQL, JDE experience, Python for data work, and the ability to handle end-to-end data flow and data quality.

Qualifications

• Own production database, write SQL and troubleshoot pipelines daily.
• Manage master and reference data so numbers reconcile across sources.
• Build and maintain data pipelines from source systems to the commercial data model.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the commercial SQL Server database—tables, views, stored procedures, data integrity, and performance.
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries daily.
• Own end-to-end data flow: source systems → SQL Server → Power BI; ensure data quality and validation.
• Build and maintain ingestion for external market data and join to internal sales/product/customer data.
• Monitor production incidents and triage, communicating status without waiting for instructions.
• Own data validation and QA processes; catch issues before reporting.
• Manage master/reference data: customer, product, and sales-hierarchy definitions.
• Document and maintain crosswalks/mapping tables across sources.
• Standardize and de-duplicate reference data with clear definitions.
• Design, build, expand data pipelines across sales, market, product, customer.
• Ingest external market data feeds via APIs or scheduled files.
• Explain data outputs in business terms to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Director of Customer Data & Analytics and IT partners.
