Job summary

Bank of America is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to lead Oracle/Vertica data pipelines, design scalable data solutions, and mentor a team of developers. You will collaborate with Product Owners, ensure data integrity, and optimize performance across heterogeneous systems using SQL/PL/SQL, shell scripting, and CI/CD practices.

The role emphasizes end-to-end data modeling, documentation, testing, and hands-on development in a fast-paced, on-site environment in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of job related experience required.
• Strong Oracle SQL/PL/SQL and data integration experience.
• Experience with Autosys or similar job schedulers.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor in an Agile environment.
• Hands-on development of Oracle data flows and data warehousing.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops and is accountable for feature delivery.
• Ensures solution meets acceptance criteria with minimal technical debt.
• Guides the team on work breakdown and execution.
• Collaborates with Product Owner to maintain healthy backlog and clear criteria.
• Mentors team members and fosters engineering practices.
• Develops Oracle/Vertica data solutions and APIs, and supports testing and data validation.
• Performs performance tuning and data quality improvements.
• Documents end-to-end processes and runbooks.
