Job summary

Bank of America is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of Oracle/Vertica data pipelines and analytics platforms. You will mentor a team, enforce coding standards, and collaborate with multiple technology groups to ensure data integrity and scalability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience in data/ETL engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with Oracle SQL/PLSQL and non-relational databases.
• Strong Unix shell scripting and automation skills (Autosys experience preferred).
• Experience in designing and implementing Oracle-driven data integration pipelines and data models.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops and is accountable for feature delivery.
• Ensure solutions meet product acceptance criteria with minimal technical debt.
• Guide the team on work breakdown, estimation, and execution.
• Collaborate with Product Owner to keep backlog healthy with clear acceptance criteria.
• Mentor team members and uphold engineering practices and code quality.
• Document end-to-end processes, database procedures, and runbooks.
• Lead efforts in data modeling, performance tuning, and data quality improvements.
• Support testing, data validation, and troubleshooting across Oracle/Vertica environments.
• Translate stakeholder needs into scalable database-centric technical solutions.
