Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer to join Health Technologies. You will design and support data pipelines, integrate with study leads, data scientists, and engineers, and help prototype health features on iOS/macOS apps.

You will work with Python/Scala, Spark, Airflow, and Swift to ensure robust, privacy‑aware data systems for research years ahead of product launches. This role blends data engineering rigor with Apple platform app development in a research context.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics, or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience in Software Development
• Expert in Python or Scala, with large-scale data processing (Spark/Hadoop/Dask) and workflow orchestration/containers (Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience designing ETL workflows and data models across Postgres, SQL, Parquet, S3, Data Lake
• Experience in Swift and Xcode-based development for iOS/macOS apps using Apple technologies (SwiftUI, SwiftData/CoreData, Swift Concurrency)

Responsibilities

• Design and support data pipelines and analysis workflows for large data sets
• Integrate with study leads, data scientists, and engineers to meet data needs
• Build and maintain iOS/macOS apps that collect data and prototype health features
• Architect data models and harmonize disparate data sources across collection paths
