Job summary

State Street is seeking a Data Engineer Lead to design, develop, and optimize data pipelines in Azure, Databricks, and Snowflake. You will migrate on-prem apps to cloud, build scalable data lakes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, security, and governance.

The role requires strong SQL and programming skills, plus experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and large-scale data warehousing. Hybrid onsite/remote work is available.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines in Azure for ingesting, transforming, and loading data into centralized Azure data lakes and Snowflake/Databricks Delta Lake.
• Implement ELT/ETL processes to ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across sources.
• Design data models and schemas to support storage and retrieval of structured and unstructured data; optimize for performance and scale.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and operations to translate data requirements into technical solutions.
• Monitor pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data security and integrity.
• Define and enforce data governance standards and policies with stakeholders.
