Job summary

State Street in Princeton, NJ is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain Azure-based data pipelines, ingesting and transforming data into lakehouse architectures. You will optimize ELT/ETL processes and model data for analytics.

The role requires 10+ years IT, 8+ years in Big Data, expert knowledge of Azure Databricks, Synapse, and SQL, and strong coding in Scala/Java. On-site with one remote day, competitive salary, and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a computer/IT-related subject.
10+ years of overall IT industry experience.
8+ years of Big Data data pipeline experience.
8+ years as a Data Engineer focusing on Azure Databricks.
8+ years of cloud development including Azure Services, Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, and Docker.
Experience with Snowflake is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines in Azure for ingesting, transforming, and loading data into centralized Azure data lakes and Delta Lake.
Implement efficient ELT/ETL processes to ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability.
Design data models and schemas to support storage and retrieval of structured and unstructured data.
Optimize data storage and access for performance and scalability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate data requirements into technical solutions.
Monitor pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data integrity and security.
Implement data quality controls and governance standards.
Identify bottlenecks and optimize queries and infrastructure for performance.
