Job summary

Sonos is seeking a Data Engineering Intern in Seattle for a 11-week program. You will join a cross-functional team to design and build data features, pipelines, and analytics that support product performance and user experience.

This role emphasizes learning, collaboration, and delivering high-quality data products. The internship runs June to August 2026 with 40 hours per week onsite at the Seattle office.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Proficient in SQL and Python.
• Familiarity with Git version control.
• Understanding of the data development lifecycle and CI/CD concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and build product features and capabilities on a cross-functional team.
• Build and maintain data pipelines to collect, transform, and process product usage, device performance, and customer interaction data.
• Develop and optimize ETL workflows using Python, SQL, and cloud-based data technologies.

Work Period: June 7- August 20, 2026

Location & Schedule: This is a 40-hour-per-week position with minimum 4 days per week onsite in our Seattle office. There is no relocation or housing assistance for this position.

As a Data Engineering Intern, you will contribute to the foundational pieces of our system, ensuring high-quality and reliable operation. You will collaborate with a team of industry-leading innovators across various disciplines, including hardware, product management, and user experience. WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Data Engineering Intern, you’ll work on a cross-functional team to design and build product features and capabilities.

Examples include:

• Build and maintain data pipelines to collect, transform, and process product usage, device performance, and customer interaction data.
• Develop and optimize ETL workflows using Python, SQL, and cloud-based data technologies to support scalable and efficient data processing.
• Ensure data quality and reliability by implementing data validation, monitoring, and automated testing to maintain accurate product datasets.
• Develop datasets and analytics solutions that provide insights into product performance, user engagement, and customer experience.
• Creating a semantic data layer to empower machine learning and AI to leverage data and diagnostics.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

Basic Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at a College or University with a preferred field of study in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
• Demonstrated proficiency writing code with one or more of the following: SQL and Python
• Familiarity with version control such as Git
• Understanding of the data development lifecycle and continuous integration and deployment techniques

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with one or more of the following technologies: Data: Tableau, Snowflake, DBT or similar other data tools
• Experience with AWS Cloud Services
• Experience with CI/CD build and release pipelines: Github Actions, Jenkins or similar

PROGRAM QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at a College or University, with expected graduation date of Winter 2027/2028 or Spring 2028/2029.
• Available to participate in our internship program from June to August
• Ability to work out of our Seattle office a minimum 4 days per week
• Authorized to work for any US employer, both now and in the future.
• Sonos is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this role at this time.
