Job summary

Leidos, a defense and technology leader, is offering a Summer 2027 Data Engineering & Analytics Internship at Scott AFB, IL. You will join the GSM-O II contract and work on data visualization, automation, and software development to support DISA.

You’ll build Kibana dashboards, help deploy and test Kafka/Elastic clusters, and contribute your Python, JavaScript, and SQL skills within an Agile team on-site. Applicants must be U.S.

Qualifications

• Citizenship & Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
• Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related engineering discipline.
• Technical Foundation: Understanding of software development with Python, Java, or SQL, and basic web tech like HTML/JavaScript.
• Version Control: Basic familiarity with Git.
• Analytical Mindset: Strong desire to learn, keen attention to detail, proactive problem-solving.
• Location: On-site internship at Scott AFB, Illinois; on-site work only; transportation required.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Bring (Required)

• Technical Foundation:A foundational understanding of software development with Python, Java, or SQL, and a working knowledge of web technologies like HTML and JavaScript.
• Version Control:Basic familiarity with distributed version control software, such as Git.
• Analytical Mindset:A strong desire to learn, keen attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Location:This internship is basedon-site at Scott AFB, Illinois.All work must be performed on site – no teleworking opportunities. Candidates must be in the St. Louis Metro area and have their own transportation.

What We Want (Desired)

• Certifications:Obtaining aCompTIA Security+certification (or any certification that aligns with DoD 8570 IAT Level II) before the start date isstrongly encouraged.
• Hands-On Experience:Experience from home labs, class projects, hackathons, or prior internships is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with:
  • Web development using UI frameworks like React.
  • Containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Cloud environments (AWS is a plus).
  • Agile development tools like JIRA and Confluence.

Pay Range

Pay Range $40,300.00 - $72,850.00
