Graham Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise data engineering solutions that support advanced analytics and modernize large-scale data environments. You will build secure, scalable cloud-based data pipelines and enable predictive analytics and machine learning capabilities.

The role includes preparing data for dashboards, developing technical documentation, and facilitating knowledge transfer.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for high-volume logistics data.
• Build ETL/ELT processes to centralize data in cloud repositories.
• Develop data lake architectures for structured and unstructured data.
• Create batch and streaming pipelines using Kafka, Airflow, NiFi.
• Design cloud-native storage/compute in AWS or Azure.
• Ensure data architectures meet DoD cybersecurity requirements.
• Implement metadata, data lineage, and data quality controls.
• Develop SQL and NoSQL databases to support analytics.
• Build APIs for enterprise data integration.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to prep data for ML/AI projects.
• Develop data models for executive dashboards using BI tools.
• Monitor and optimize pipelines and cloud infra.
• Produce architecture docs, data dictionaries, and SOPs.
• Support knowledge transfer for Government personnel.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies and cross-functional collaboration.

The successful candidate will build secure, scalable cloud-based data pipelines, integrate data from multiple sources, and enable predictive analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning capabilities. This role also supports business intelligence initiatives by preparing data for dashboards, developing technical documentation, and facilitating knowledge transfer.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise data pipelines supporting high-volume logistics data.
• Develop ETL/ELT processes that integrate data from multiple enterprise logistics systems into centralized cloud-based data repositories.
• Build and optimize data lake architectures supporting structured and unstructured data.
• Develop batch and streaming data pipelines utilizing technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache Airflow, and Apache NiFi.
• Design and implement cloud-native storage and compute solutions within AWS or Azure environments.
• Develop secure data architectures that comply with Department of Defense cybersecurity requirements.
• Implement data governance, metadata management, data lineage, audit trails, and data quality controls.
• Develop and maintain SQL and NoSQL databases supporting enterprise analytics.
• Design and implement APIs supporting enterprise data integration and interoperability.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to prepare, transform, and optimize datasets for predictive analytics and machine learning models.
• Develop reusable data models that support executive dashboards and business intelligence reporting using Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar visualization platforms.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise data pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
• Create technical documentation including architecture diagrams, data dictionaries, interface specifications, API documentation, and standard operating procedures.
• Participate in knowledge transfer activities and technical training sessions for Government personnel.
• Support Agile software development activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and peer reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to continuously improve enterprise data capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• Active Top Secret with the ability to attain a SCI
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum Five (5) Years Of Professional Data Engineering Experience.
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Strong programming experience using Python.
• Advanced SQL development experience.
• Experience with NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Apache Kafka or similar streaming technologies.
• Experience with Apache Spark.
• Experience with Apache Airflow, Apache NiFi, or comparable orchestration tools.
• Experience designing and supporting cloud-based data solutions using AWS or Azure.
• Experience implementing enterprise data governance, metadata management, and data quality processes.
• Experience integrating data from multiple enterprise applications using APIs.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Department of Defense or Federal Government programs.
• Experience supporting logistics, supply chain, sustainment, or operational data environments.
• Experience with AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, AWS KMS, or Azure Key Vault.
• Experience developing enterprise data lakes or modern data warehouse solutions.
• Experience supporting business intelligence and dashboard development.
• Experience with containerized applications and DevSecOps pipelines.
• AWS or Microsoft Azure Cloud Certification.
• Security+ or other DoD 8570/8140 certification.
