Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking a Data Engineer to support a growing Data Analytics and BI platform for federal customers. You will join an Agile team to design, build, and optimize data pipelines and data stores, enabling actionable insights across programs.

The role requires strong skills in ETL, Python, SQL, and data tooling, with opportunities to work with Tableau/PowerBI and cloud-friendly practices. A Public Trust clearance is preferred and citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
• 7+ years IT experience with design, management, and solutioning of large, complex data sets.
• Experience building data pipelines from multiple sources and formats.
• Proficiency in ETL development and data validation.
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, and SAS for data manipulation.
• Strong knowledge of big data analysis and storage tools.
• Strong understanding of Agile principles and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and Git version control.

Responsibilities

• Develop data pipelines to store, manage, and provision data to consumers.
• Contribute as an active member of an Agile/Scrum team.
• Write code to ensure data extraction and processing performance and reliability.
• Support automation for data ingest and processing.
• Advocate lean-agile engineering practices like API-first design and automated testing.
• Collaborate with program management and engineers on evolving requirements.
• Support customer service excellence and cross-functional teamwork.
