Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking a Data Engineer for our growing Data Analytics and Business Intelligence platform serving federal clients. The role focuses on developing robust data pipelines, implementing data extraction, and delivering actionable insights across multiple data sources.

The ideal candidate will possess strong Python, SQL, and ETL skills, with experience in big data tools, PostgreSQL, and data visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.

Qualifications

• 7+ years IT experience in design, management and solutioning of large data sets and models.
• Proficiency in developing ETL processes and data validation.
• Experience building data pipelines from structured and unstructured sources.
• Strong knowledge of big data analysis and storage tools.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Experience with APIs and data visualization tools like Tableau/Power BI.
• Ability to translate requirements into data strategies and analytic solutions.

Responsibilities

• Complete development efforts across data pipelines to store, manage, and provision data to consumers.
• Be an active, collaborative member of an Agile/Scrum team and follow best practices.
• Write code to ensure performance and reliability of data extraction and processing.
• Support continuous automation for data ingest and CI/CD pipelines.
• Advocate lean-agile engineering principles and practices like API-first design and automated testing.
• Collaborate with program management and engineers on evolving requirements and documentation.
• Foster customer service excellence, innovation, collaboration, and teamwork.
