Amazon is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Product & E-commerce Analytics team supporting Whole Foods Market’s digital presence. You will architect robust data infrastructures and develop advanced data pipelines to unlock the full potential of our expansive data landscape.
You will collaborate with BI Engineers and Data Scientists to advance analytics, build scalable data flows, and align solutions with business objectives, while embracing ambiguity and delivering value.
We are seeking a Data Engineer to join the Product & E-commerce Analytics team supporting Whole Foods Market’s (WFM) digital presence. In this position, you will be responsible for architecting robust data infrastructures and developing advanced data pipelines to unlock the full potential of our expansive data landscape.
Help build the infrastructure that powers data-driven decision making. Utilize software engineering best practices, data management fundamentals, data storage principles, and recent advances in distributed systems.
Manage and optimize usage of cloud computing resources, particularly on AWS, to support data infrastructure.
Collaborate with Business Intelligence Engineers to establish best practices for data reporting, analysis, integrity, testing, validation, and documentation.
Collaborate with Data Scientists to implement advanced analytics algorithms that exploit our rich data sets for statistical analysis, prediction, clustering and machine learning.
Drive the architecture and technology decisions that enable a world-class user experience.
Develop in-depth knowledge of the Amazon’s various data sources to determine the appropriate data resources for each use case.
Encourage the organization to adopt next-generation data architecture strategies, proposing both data flows and storage solutions
Thrive in an environment with a degree of ambiguity, quickly building proof of concepts, iterating, and improving data-driven solutions.
Create extensible designs and easy to maintain solutions with the long term vision in mind.
Have an understanding and empathy for business objectives, and continually align your work with those objectives and seek to deliver business value.
3 years of data engineering experience
Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
