Job summary

Community Financial System, Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and architectures. You will extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources into a central repository (Snowflake), ensure data quality, and collaborate with analysts to support data-driven initiatives.

The role requires 3+ years in data engineering, hands-on Snowflake/DBT, Python and SQL, and familiarity with data warehousing concepts. Banking experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 3+ years as data engineer; banking experience preferred.
• Experience with Snowflake and DBT; ELT tools like Astronomer and Apache Airflow.
• Experience with BI tools, preferably Power BI.
• Strong working knowledge of Python, SQL, and Git.
• Familiarity with data modeling and data warehousing concepts; experience with DBT or DataIKU.
• Cloud data warehousing experience in Snowflake/Azure or similar.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and architectures.
• Integrate data from diverse sources and ensure data quality.
• Develop and implement database solutions for storage and retrieval.
• Collaborate with data analysts to support data-driven initiatives.
• Monitor data infrastructure performance and optimize processing.
• Design and optimize ETL/ELT processes (Snowflake) and data storage.
• Ensure data security and privacy; comply with governance policies.
• Assist with other DA projects and maintain an overview of processes.
