Job summary

Pioneering Evolution, LLC is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop, and operate secure enterprise data solutions for the SyncPoint program in Arlington, VA. The role focuses on building reliable data pipelines, data models, and integrations with DoD financial data domains, while ensuring data accuracy, provenance, and security.

The ideal candidate will have strong PostgreSQL experience, Microsoft Azure expertise, and a background in ETL/ELT, APIs, and event-driven architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in data engineering or related backend roles.
• Strong SQL and relational database design skills.
• PostgreSQL schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Azure cloud environments and data platforms.
• Familiarity with DoD or regulated environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain data models for DoD financial domains.
• Develop ETL/ELT pipelines for data import, transformation, and distribution.
• Build and optimize PostgreSQL queries, views, and procedures.
• Integrate data with external systems like Navy ERP, PIEE, and EDW.
• Support AI/ML data preparation and data retrieval capabilities.
• Establish data quality checks, lineage, and governance practices.
