Job summary

Sporting Kansas City seeks a Data Engineer to design, develop and maintain scalable data infrastructure and ETL/ELT pipelines, ensuring high-quality data for analysis and decision-making across the Club.

You will collaborate with coaches, analysts, scouts and IT to build a centralized data platform, integrate data from multiple sources, and support reporting tools, dashboards and internal apps. Strong SQL/Python, cloud experience, and data governance are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science or related STEM field.
• Significant experience in a Data Engineering role with building data pipelines and data models.
• Strong SQL and Python for data cleaning, engineering, transformation and automation workflows.
• Experience with modern cloud data infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Knowledge of data governance, validation, and reliability practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and maintenance of scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for tools, reports and dashboards.
• Collaborate with coaches, analysts, scouts and stakeholders to translate data needs into scalable solutions.
• Build and manage a centralized data platform and APIs; integrate data from multiple providers to create a single source of truth.
• Productionize ML models and support ML deployment workflows.
• Ensure data protection, governance and quality across the data stack.
