Job Summary

A Data Engineer designs, builds, and maintains the systems that collect, store, and process data for analysis and business use. They are responsible for creating data pipelines that transform raw data into usable formats for data scientists and other stakeholders. Data engineers implement data quality checks and monitoring processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability. This involves developing and maintaining databases, data warehouses, and other data infrastructure.

Duties
  1. Work with business users, technology teams, and executives to understand their data needs and create innovative solutions to fulfill them.
  2. Design, organize, and implement data structures, workflows, and integrations between enterprise platforms to ensure the accurate and timely execution of business processes.
  3. Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and build out new API integrations to support increasing data volume and complexity.
  4. Manage and improve the performance of databases, queries, tools, and solutions.
  5. Create and maintain data warehouses, databases, tables, SQL queries, and ingestion pipelines.
  6. Utilize tools and technologies including SQL, Python, Java, Scala, cloud platforms, and ETL/ELT frameworks.
  7. Write complex and efficient queries to transform raw data sources into accessible models for teams and reporting platforms.
  8. Collaborate with analytics, data science, and engineering teams to automate data analysis and visualization, advise on data transformation, and develop data infrastructure.
  9. Identify and solve complex data-related problems.
  10. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and demonstrate the company's core values.
  11. This role involves exposure to PHI data and is considered high risk and privileged.
Requirements (Education, Experience, and Training)
  1. 5+ years of progressive software experience in relevant technologies.
  2. 3+ years designing complex service-oriented systems.
  3. Strong experience in the Databricks ecosystem.
  4. Proficiency with tools and technologies such as Databricks, SQL, Python, Java, Scala, cloud platforms, and ETL/ELT frameworks.
  5. Experience with advanced analytics tools and scripting languages like Python, Java, or Scala.
  6. Database development experience with SQL, SPARK, BigQuery, and familiarity with NoSQL databases like Hadoop, MongoDB, Cassandra.
  7. Big Data development experience with Hive, Impala, Spark, and Kafka.
  8. Bachelor’s degree in a related computer field is preferred.
Compensation

The salary range for this position is $100-120K, based on education, experience, skills, location, and internal equity. The role includes health insurance, 401k, and bonus opportunities.
