Alter Domus in Chicago is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build and maintain data pipelines powering a new suite of analytics products for private credit. You will extract data from core administration systems, transform into analytics-ready structures, and ensure near-real-time delivery.

You will own the data-in-motion layer, implement CDC, and collaborate with the Data Architect and Platform Engineer to align logical design with delivery requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional data engineering experience building production pipelines.
• Expert proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift) and dbt.
• Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect) and CI/CD for data pipelines.
• Strong experience with CDC, streaming, or event-driven architectures.
• Experience with regulatory filing ingestion and parsing (e.g., XBRL).
• Familiarity with loan-level data structures in financial contexts.
• Experience building pipelines for external clients, not just internal BI.
• Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Responsabilités

• Build and maintain production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines to extract, transform and load data from core administration platforms into the analytics data model.
• Handle tens of thousands of live records with daily (or intraday) refresh requirements
• Implement extraction logic for complex financial data including loan balances, rate structures, allocations, and maturities
• Implement change-data-capture (CDC) and incremental refresh patterns for near-real-time data
• Ingest and validate structured data from regulatory filings and third-party sources, deduplicate against primary data
• Collaborate with the Data Architect and Platform Engineer to align logic, schema, and delivery requirements
