Job summary

Dechert LLP is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and integrations supporting reporting, analytics, and business operations. Qualifications

• Proficiency in SQL and SQL Server; complex joins, stored procedures, indexing, and optimization.
• Hands-on experience with production SSIS packages, ETL, and data integrations.
• Experience with data profiling, quality checks, reconciliation, monitoring, and issue resolution.
• Understanding of data governance concepts: metadata, lineage, ownership, stewardship, critical data elements.
• Boomi integration development experience; migrating SSIS to Boomi is a plus.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or Snowflake; data lakehouse/workloads knowledge.
• Python for data processing, validation, and automation.
• Knowledge of API/file-based integrations, version control, testing, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and explain technical concepts to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and integrations using SQL, SSIS, Python, and Boomi.
• Develop SQL queries and warehouse structures for reporting and analytics.
• Maintain Azure DevOps build/release pipelines for Python data processes and automation.
• Build a reusable data quality framework with profiling, validation rules, reconciliation, monitoring, and metrics.
• Partner with data owners to define quality rules and track data issues to remediation.
• Document metadata, lineage, mappings, and governance standards.
• Contribute to SSIS-to-Boomi migration; document, test, and support cutover.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production pipelines with logging, error handling, alerts, and recovery.
• Evaluate data platform migrations ensuring continuity for downstream users.
• Maintain technical docs, testing procedures, and runbooks; communicate progress.
