Job summary

New York Medical Facility is seeking a Data Engineer to build and maintain data infrastructure and analytical tools for the department's needs. This on-site role runs Monday through Friday with 8AM-4PM or 9AM-5PM shifts in New York.

Responsibilities include developing data pipelines, transforming diverse data sources, and delivering analytics for operations, revenue, and clinical domains. Proficiency in SQL, Python, Tableau, and EPIC data is required.

Qualifications

• Master or Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Analytics or related field with at least 1 year of relevant experience or 4 years of experience in data analytics, software programming or related field.
• Experience building data infrastructure, pipelines and analytics tools for healthcare data.
• Proficiency with SQL, Python and BI tools to support operational decisions.

Responsibilities

• Build infrastructure (pipelines and automated processes) for ETL/ELT from diverse sources using SQL, Python and other technologies.
• Provide analytics to drive operations and decisioning across domains like VBP, Revenue & Expense, Ambulatory Care.
• Assemble raw data into efficient models for reporting and financial operations.
• Identify process improvements and automate manual tasks to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to address data needs and issues.
• Prepare ad-hoc and recurring reporting and build analytical tools to support senior management and executives.
• Create reports/dashboards from EPIC data to provide visibility into key metrics and trends.
• Document data operations and curated datasets to ensure data quality and resiliency.
• Assist with financial reconciliations and planning with automation focus.
• Analyze business requirements and communicate to technical teams with data flow models.
• Identify performance improvements and resolve data related issues.
• Handle other related tasks and projects.

Education

++PURPOSE OF POSITION:++

Primarily responsible to build and maintain data infrastructure and analytical tools for support the department needs. Full stack data professional working with both engineering/modeling and analytical aspects of data to fulfill organization's data and analytical needs

++SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:++

• Build infrastructure (pipelines and automated processes) required for optimal extraction, loading and transformation of data from a wide variety of sources using SQL, python and/or other technologies as needed
• Provide analytics to drive operations as well as decisioning across domains like VBP, Revenue & Expense, Ambulatory Care etc.
• Assemble raw and disjointed data sets and transform into efficient data models that can be leveraged for tracking, reporting and financial operations
• Identify, design and implement process improvements, automating manual processes and optimizing operational efficiencies
• Work with cross functional stakeholders and partners to assist with data related issues and support their needs
• Prepare ad-hoc and recurring reporting and analyses and build analytical tools to support senior management and executive decision making
• Create reports and dashboards from EPIC and its data to provide visibility into key metrics and trends
• Create routine data validation rules and processes to ensure completeness and integrity
• As needed, assist with Financial reconciliations and planning with an eye towards automation to improve efficiencies
• Maintain clear, organized and complete documentation of data operations and curated datasets at all time to maintain operational resiliency and ensure the data is fit for purpose
• Analyze and document business requirements and processes communicate requirements to technical personnel through the construction of basic conceptual data process models and flowcharts
• Identify performance improvement opportunities and resolution
• Other related tasks and/or projects

Skills:

Master or Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Analytics or related field plus 1 year of relevant experience or;
