Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is a leading U.S. government contractor seeking a Data Engineer – Mid to design and maintain scalable data pipelines, models, and data services for CD&I analytics, experimentation, and AI/ML initiatives.

You will work with analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to ensure secure, reliable data infrastructure that aligns with USMC data strategy and enterprise architectures; a TS/SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS/IS/Engineering/Data Science or related field.
• 3–5 years of data engineering or related experience, with at least 2 years in a DoW/Federal enterprise.
• Proficiency with SQL and at least one modern programming language (Python or Java).
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and relational databases.
• Understanding of data security and governance in controlled environments.
• Active TS/SCI Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust data ingestion, transformation, and delivery processes from multiple systems.
• Develop and optimize data models, schemas, and storage solutions for analytic workloads.
• Implement data quality, validation, and monitoring mechanisms for accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure data security, access control, and auditing in line with DoW/USMC policies.
• Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and AI/ML teams to meet performance needs.
• Document data architectures and data flows; support transition to operations.
