Job summary

Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct a search for a knowledgeable Data Engineer for our client, a data-driven environmental consulting and engineering firm. This contract-to-hire role is based out of Hunt Valley, Maryland, with remote flexibility anywhere in the US.

The Data Engineer will own data pipelines, lakehouse architecture, data quality, and platform expansion, collaborating with AI and Power Platform teams to enable enterprise data access and governance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional Data Engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or OneLake preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the long-term technical owner for Microsoft Fabric and OneLake.
• Design, build, and deploy a new unified enterprise data platform with a third-party team.
• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines from disparate sources.
