National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining in Columbus, OH seeks a Data Engineer to join America Makes and drive the integration, structuring, and hosting of project data in CORE. You will ensure data quality, accessibility, and reuse across 200+ active projects in a collaborative environment.

You will lead data management improvements, develop pipelines, and support senior stakeholders with provenance-aware data architectures to advance adaptive and additive manufacturing

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of relevant experience in developing and managing manufacturing data pipelines, data management practices, and database architectures.
• Strong time management skills – be willing to make a plan, stick to it, and communicate changes effectively.
• Ability to lead discussions if or when necessary – recognize you and your voice matter, we get there as a team.
• Willingness to ask questions when matters are unfamiliar, unknown, or unclear.
• Willingness to seek feedback and address challenges or unclear matters.
• Strong communication skills concerning project plans, work breakdown structures, risk, and technical details.
• Great note taker or ability to retain knowledge quickly.
• Desire to keep team members informed of plans, logic, and goals.

Responsabilités

• Understand, develop, and continuously improve data management principles and common practices for the America Makes program.
• Facilitate integration, structuring, and storage of project data within CORE.
• Identify and address data management capability gaps and manage a strategy for continuous process improvement.
• Strong awareness of data pedigree, data structures, essential variables, and data models for advanced manufacturing.
• Manage the quality and reuse of America Makes data assets.
